Death By Blog - Steve vs Buck Wild

"O brave new world, That has such people in't."

- Shakespeare (The Tempest)

Welcome to DBB

Venturing to a new world is a concept that has only been discovered hundreds of years ago, finding new lands and new people, seeing just how different their worlds were. What would happen if went found a world completely different from our own? New creatures, new threats, new biomes, and most importantly..a new friend that came from your world and knows all the ropes about how this one works. They may seem crazy and unhinged, but they survived this long. The most you could do in this new environment is trust the guy who already knows how it all works. Welcome to DBB my friends, a new blog world, I introduce to you..

Steve: the survivalist master in a world full of bricks and imagination.

Buck Wild: the survivalist master in a world full of dinosaurs and danger.

You know me, FMT

And it's time to see which New-World Wanderer has the best Arsenal, Abilities and Actions to find out who will be sentenced to Death By Blog

Before We Begin

This won't be too hard to really talk about. For Steve, we’ll use the Minecraft movie and the Minecraft movie DLC in the actual game. For Buck we'll use all 3 of his movie appearances, and the videogames. Plus any other Ice Age content that could be used for scaling!

Connections

  • Lonesome adventurers who found themselves in a new world completely different from them, where they proceeded to become explorers/heroes of this world and learned its rules, and especially how to survive it. This world accepted them and it became their new home.

  • Things changed when they had to help some a new cast of people who found themselves in this world and needed help to get back home to their world

  • Would connect to the newcomers and consider them new family and attempt to help them throughout the journey, even showing them how this world works and how to survive it.

  • At first are seen as weirdos and crazy old guys, but then the newcomers really come to appreciate them and see them as heroes who helped them a lot

  • Defeated an evil force that hated this world the hero helped to make, and wanted to rule it in their own image with an iron fist.

Background

Steve

“I….am Steve!”

Oh the real world, so vast, so big, so full of life..yet so emotionally empty. Sometimes you have a dream to do whatever you want, sometimes you think your life has a bigger purpose, sometimes..you want something different. That's what happened to a kid who yearned for the mines, despite witnessing the worst thing in the world..which is growing up; he would return to the mines to fulfill his dreams. But on that journey, he would find a cube, a glowy cube, a glowy cube that opened a portal to a whole new world. An amazing world, full of blocks, imagination, and freedom.. everything he could've wanted. This man found his new home, a home that accepted him, a world he could explore and protect from evil..a world that accepted the imaginative man named Steve.

Steve ventured through this amazing new world, and he found that he could do something spectacular..build! Oh he could build everything he wanted with the materials surrounding him! He built houses, statues, monuments, and he built a friendship with a cute wolf he named Dennis. All the creatures and mobs in this world were amazing, even the bad ones that spawned during the 20 minute night cycles. But that changed when he entered a portal to a world called the Nether, where imagination was nothing but a horrid concept, and hell ran loose. It was run by a piglin sorceress called Malgosha, he wanted the cube..or..the orb..to plunge the overworld into darkness and steal all its gold. Steve couldn't let this happen, he would get imprisoned, tell Dennis to take the orb into the overworld and hide it somewhere nowhere could find it, all in order to keep the overworld safe forever…unfortunately it wouldn't last long.

Turns out some newcomers who found the orb in an auction found their way into the Overworld, having to find their own way through all of the dangers and secrets. Steve learned of the orb being returned, and was tricked into believing that Malgosha kidnapped Dennis even though Dennis was back in the overworld himself. Steve had to reluctantly make a deal, trade the orb for Dennis, and he was released in order to find the orb so he could save his pooch. So Steve would find the newcomers and save them from some zombies, however after learning they broke a piece of it, he knew they had to venture to the Northland mansion in order to find the other piece of it. So Steve would lead these people throughout the journey, show them how this new world works, and everything he has learned about how to survive its dangers. He'd reveal that he wouldn't actually give the orb to Malgosha, just use it as leeway so he could get Dennis back. And despite having to fight through Piglins in a village, getting separated from the other half of the group, escaping through the skies from some of the Piglins’ Ghasts, and venturing through a mine, he would still do his best to protect his new pals.

Things got rough on the way, having to worry about what Malgosha could do to this amazing world if she got the orb, having to think about his purpose, and watching as friends show off their deeper side. He kept venturing on, going through the Northland mansion and having his younger friend named Henry find the other piece of the orb while he and his best bro named Garret “the Garbage man” Garrison had to face a chicken and a baby zombie in a fighting arena. The group would attempt to escape but Malgosha found them, she tracked them down and planned on killing them right then and there. While he and Henry escaped on a Ghast, Garret sacrificed his life in order to let Steve and Henry escape. Steve and Henry woke up in a shroom house, Steve reuniting with Dennis, and both mourned the loss of their friend. However things got worse once Malgosha stole the orb and finally used it to spread darkness throughout the overworld and reign supreme. Steve, Henry, and his other friends Natalie and Dawn had to stop her once and for all, so they made a plan. Henry and Natalie would build an army of Iron Golems to fight the army of Piglins, Dawn would help in the attack with Dennis and a pack of wolves, and with Diamond armor, Steve would fight Malgosha head on. Things seemed dire once Henry was almost killed before he could grab the orb, but Garret came in on a Ghast and saved Henry, shooting down the portal and stopping Malgosha’s evil plot! The world was saved, everything went back to normal, and the newcomers returned home. However, seeing that he could use his own creativity back there, Steve decided to return to the overworld with his friends and live his life the way he wants to live it! But don't worry, Steve will always protect the overworld, it's a part of him, and when it calls for a hero, he'll always protect it from anything that threatens its creativity..

Buck Wild

“It's time to get…Buck Wild.”

Welcome to the ice age, thousands of years in the past where animals are forced to constantly migrate and live through the cold shifting weather. Warm weather is a rarity but still somewhat pleasant, there was one weasel however who wasn't like the rest of the people in that world. He yearned for adventure, action, and of course…freedom! Fortunately for him, he would venture into a new world, a more dangerous world, a more free world….this world was filled with DINOSAURS. He had found his home, he had become not only a survivor, but a hero. Protecting eggs from being poached, going around and battling bad dinos, and having a grand old time. Most of his enemies will call him a weasel, but those who saw him as a hero knew him as Buck Wild.

Things weren't all fine and dandy, before he became this hero, he was met with lots of scary creatures and dinosaurs that he had to fight through. One of them was a scary albino dinosaur called Rudy, a large white beast with pale skin and veryyyy sharp features. This monster chased Buck endlessly throughout the jungle, even scratching out one of Buck's eyes. But y'know what they say, an eye for an eye, but in this case….an eye for a tooth. Buck stopped himself from being swallowed by the hungry dino and punched his way out his mouth, knocking out Rudy's tooth and using it as sort of a dagger for his many adventures to come. You could say this experience made Buck far more brave than he was before, he already faced the deadliest dinosaur in his world, what could be worse? Buck truly started his reputation as a hero who'd protect everything in his new home!

His time in this world really shifted when he met an odd herd that were searching for their friends, of course Buck had to be their guide to this crazy big world, he knew all of the ropes! He warned them of all the dangers, showed them how the world works, and showed them how much of a wacko he is. Yeah let's say staying isolated for so long kinda made him crazy, but hey, he enjoys it. He would guide the herd to lava falls by journeying through the jungle of mystery, across the chasm of death, and of course to the plates of woa. Buck would help these strangers but also connect with them on the way, and they seemed to care about him as well. He would tell them all amazing stories of his past, show them just how much of a badass he is, and even save their lives from imminent danger. Buck and the herd would travel through all these locations, see how big and crazy this world is, and just really admire Buck for being able to survive here for so long. Eventually reaching the plates of woah, Buck having to save their sloth friend riding on a pterodactyl through the rushing volcanoes, and while the mammoth had to help his wife while she was pregnant with his child, they would successfully complete their mission and save their friend from this absolutely crazy world. And even witness the miracle of child birth! Because the mammoth would have a little girl named Peaches, it was time for Buck to take the herd back to their own home.

Buck would say goodbye to his new friends when it was time for them to return, but that would change real soon. Rudy was back, and he was here to feast and take back what was his. This wasn't new to Buck, but he knew that he had to incapacitate Rudy in order for the herd to go back home. And with their help, they would tie him down and keep him down for a bit. However after breaking out of his binds and coming close to eating their sloth friend, another T-Rex came in and pushed Rudy off of a cliff, of course killing him. Buck lost his purpose, his life's motivation was gone, what was he supposed to do now? The berd invited him back to the surface, to join their herd and become a family. Buck never really thought about going back up, he had been in this world for so long that it felt like home to him, would he even be accepted back at the top? The Herd assured that he would fit in, and that they would all be a family, which admittedly enlightened him. He was ready to go back to the world above, but then Buck heard Rudy's roar, he was still alive! The surface world is neat and all, but maybe his world should stay down there, it needed a protector anyways. And so Buck would return back to his freedom, his life of adventure, and his duty as a protector to this lost world. But don't fret, he would always help his herd family from time to time whenever they needed him! Hell, he even saved the entire PLANET from a deadly asteroid that would've killed everyone! And stopped a dino tyrant that wanted to rule the dinosaur world with an iron fist. Because Buck is a hero through and through, and you can always bet that he'll find a way to help others and help either worlds from all sorts of danger, no matter how crazy the process is….

Skill and Experience

Steve

Steve spent quite a bit of time in the overworld, assuming at least a couple of months or years (using the math since Minecraft days are 20 minutes long, then in Minecraft years Steve was in the overworld at least for over a thousand years.), and he definitely learned a thing or two, especially in how to survive. Steve is a great builder, during his time in the overworld he was able to create a TON of builds and monuments. He was even able to create an entire amusement park called Steve's World. He even mentions that most of the really cool things inside of the village were made by him, while the Villagers made the basic stuff.

He's also pretty experienced in combat, as he's able to fight off a bunch of zombies attempting to attack him. He's also an expert trap maker and states he made so many traps in a cave system that he can't even remember some of them. Steve has spent hundreds of nights fighting off Zombies, Skeletons, Creepers and more monsters that attempt to disrupt the harmony and imagination of this beautiful blocky world. Steve even states that he acquired an Ender Pearl by killing an Enderman, enemies that could teleport and do tons of damage in the overworld. Generally Steve has lots of experience fighting the evil mobs in Minecraft, and if you played the game, you know that's an extremely impressive feat.

Buck Wild

Buck has been living in his Dino-filled world for a very long time, how long exactly? Well it's unconfirmed, we just know that he lost his mind 3 months prior. But living in a world so much bigger than you means that you gotta develop some very awesome set of skills. Of course being a survivalist, Buck could camouflage himself in the waters so he's harder to spot. He knows a lot about his surrounding environment, which really helps in case others are trapped in an inescapable danger, he knows how to get them out and what to do to avoid…y'know…death.

Buck is also an infamously great tracker, using his sense of smell and knowledge of the environment to lead the way in his adventure. Even during his first time riding a pterodactyl, he was able to constantly evade enemies and maneuver easily, so Buck is also a very quick learner. He could go against many dinos that are already trying to kill him, and is very experienced against things much bigger than he is. Buck even has a Neil DeGrasseTyson type persona and others inside of his head, basically showing that he can come up with genius plans on a whim. And we already know someone's a badass when they can directly throw hands with Dinosaurs.

Arsenal

Steve

Diamond Pickaxe

When you need to mine, AND craft, you need a pickaxe for your journey. Steve of course has a diamond pickaxe that's not only good for mining, it's even great for combat uses.

Ender Pearl

After killing an Enderman, Steve acquired the awesome Ender Pearl. With this, you could teleport yourself anywhere depending on where you throw it as seen above, unfortunately he only has one of them…

Crafting Table

THIS is a crafting table, for all of your cool crafting needs. Just get the resources you need, stack them on the table in a specific order, and BOOM. You can make yourself any weapon and item with the right material, including a sweet blade.

Shield

When Steve needs to shield off any incoming projectiles, a shield is a great tool, I mean duh.. it's in the name guys.

Elytra Wingsuit

When you need to soar across the beautiful cube land, you need an Elytra Wingsuit which will help you glide across the horizon! And with fireworks, you could make the Elytra go even faster than before!

Steve's Secret Stash

Steve of course has his super awesome secret stash full of goodies. This includes TNT which could make big explosions, firework launchers, boots of swiftness which help you move faster than before, diamond armor which we'll get to later, and of course, blades for days. Steve has a bunch of swords he can use, one of almost every kind.

Full - Diamond Armor

Full set diamond armor! The strongest and most powerful material in all of the overworld! (Or..well..used to be..curse you netherite!) Steve has armor over his chest, feet, head, and the awesome diamond sword!

The Orb of Dominance

You see when you put one cool thingy inside of another cool thingy, you get this REALLY cool thingy. This is the orb of dominance, yes I know it's a cube.. shut up. This little trinket is the key to absolutely unimaginable power in the wrong hands, however in the right hands; this cube can be used to track the portal to the overlord and will open the portal to the realm of Minecraft itself.

Misc.

Steve has multiple random items and weapons lying around, true to Minecraft fashion.

Minecraft Movie Add-on weapons

Released as an Add-On to the normal game, the Minecraft movie and it's characters became part of the actual Minecraft game. While this wouldn't change any scaling cuz it's a separate “world”, it does the characters including Steve some neat arsenal.

Buck Wild

Rudy's Tooth

He may have lost an eye against his battle with Rudy, but he got something from his as well, his tooth. This basically acts as a dagger or a sword, he can use it to slice his way through the thick jungle or use it to defend himself against things that may attempt to attack him.

Explosive Berries

Buck can access these explosive berries all over the area, they allow him to distract any dino in case he needs a quick escape. Also you could imagine they probably smell terrible…

Purple Berries

These are sorta like the explosive berries from before, but they're able to wake up Mama T-Rex when she was knocked out. However uhhh, they're basically like drugs and will make you extremely drowsy and fucked up.

Vine

Buck can consistently use vine to do crazy things like swinging around the thick jungle, or tying things up. As you can see, it's strong enough to restrain a full on dinosaur! He can even use these vines as a sort of whip to attack or destroy things.

Asteroid Pieces

Buck collected these asteroid pieces along the way towards the mother of asteroids, however he quickly found out that they were actually extremely magnetic rocks. They could pull in many many nearby magnetic material in bunches, and so Buck would collect these rocks in a little tote bag.

Bone Boat

A really cool boat Buck made himself! I mean he didn't design it himself, last time he did that it ended up sinking.

Plant Projectile

Buck collected this Plant Projectile on his way to save the herd, he basically shoots fruit at Dino's and it actually harms them.

Squirt Plant

No I promise it's not what it sounds like, Buck can absorb any sort of liquids using this plant

Explosive Plant

Similar to the original Plant Projectile, but a lot more explosive, capable of taking down walls

Lychees

No this isn't the explosive fruit he had before, these are Lychees, which Buck could use as a throwing projectile!

Peashooter

While riding a Pterodactyl, Buck could use a peashooter projectile to shoot down any nearby flying Dino's in great succession.

Misc.

Buck has acquired a lot of random tools in his environment, not all of them are extremely helpful but y'know what, gotta credit his resourcefulness.

Abilities

Steve

Building

The secret of the overworld is the ability to build absolutely anything. Anything you can dream about here you can make, no exception! Even those weird builds…and those diamond houses that CERTAIN players claim they built in survival even though we KNOW they built that in creative mode along with their chests full of diamond armor and golden apples.. anyways. As long as you break any item, you can build any item, whether you break down wood, stone, iron, brick, and yeah diamond if you're a NOOB. You can build houses, forts, bases, and even entire statues! Like I said, there's no limit to what you can build.

Inventory

In true Minecraft fashion, Steve has an unexplainable way to store random items, an inventory! Steve could store multiple random items he finds across his journey's, like eggs, or slime cubes, or water buckets, just anything really.

Buck Wild

Enhanced Senses

He's an animal, so it only makes sense. Buck is a really good tracker and is capable of smelling certain things to help him puzzle together what could have possibly happened. His evaluation isn't usually correct but hey, he's survived in the world's most deadly habitat for this long.

Body Control

Buck is weirdly sorta elastic, not really in a toon-like way but still pretty impressive. He can twist his body in multiple ways even if it should at least break his spine. It is pretty accurate to an actual weasel, considering they have flexible spines that allow them to bend or squeeze through tight spaces. This along with their stealthy behavior allow them to escape from predators very quickly, which is very helpful for someone like Buck. He could even twist his spleen, and just remain completely fine.

Gravity Manipulation

How did he do this?? I have no idea.

Mind Manipulation

Yeah, Buck could just…transfer your mind inside of his own, like really, he just taps your head and boom, you're inside his mind. And could just undo it as well..

Teleportation

How else do you explain this..😭

Support

Steve

Dennis

A cute lil doggo that Steve found and named, this good boy was named Dennis! He's basically a normal wolf, but if you piss him off then he'll get aggressive and attack you.

Wolf Pack

Y'know what they say, when you mess with the wolf, you get the fang, and the pack! Along with Dennis, he has an entire wolf pack that can do a LOT of damage when attacking together.

Iron Golems

With enough Iron Ingots and Iron Blocks, Steve could make Iron Golems, the big and powerful defenders that won't attack unless provoked. And when mixed with the boots of swiftness, the Golem is not only much faster, but he could even jump extremely high into the air!

Buck Wild

Pterodactyl

This may have been the first time he's done it, but Buck is extremely skilled at riding Pterodactyls. He was able to evade many nearby enemies and maneuver through the environment, he could even use the explosive berries to shoot at nearby “aircraft”.

Mama T-Rex

As shown above, all Buck’s gotta do is blow the horn and it'll summon Mama T-Rex herself. Turns out he's actually good friends with her, and she's been a massive help with some adventures, so she's surprisingly a loyal ally to him.

Pachycephalosaurus

Buck being able to tame Dino’s is weirdly consistent, he could rope a dinosaur with ease and is capable of riding them, like with this Pachycephalosaurus!

Resistances

Steve

  • Heat Manipulation - Idk he can resist a bunch of zombies burning up around him?

Buck Wild

Weaknesses

Steve

While Steve doesn't have any specific weaknesses, he does tend to have trouble thinking during really tough situations, and will have to end up doing something extremely risky that could cost his life. Also he doesn't have an infinite inventory, he can eventually run out of items and weapons if they're ever broken. And he doesn't have complete Minecraft logic, he can't respawn somewhere random like in the game if he does die.

Buck Wild

While he's extremely versatile in survival skills, let's be honest, he's crazy. Buck lost his mind a while ago and it means he will go straight into situations head first and full on battle ready. He rarely thinks of a plan and would go in and go buck wild. And his biggest weakness is that he'd rather go solo, he considers himself a lone wolf that can do everything himself, although he's proven himself wrong on that before…

Before the verdict

Does Steve scale to the Orb?

No.

Ok fine I'll give a better explanation of why Steve should not scale to the orb of dominance. Simply, not only does no one ever damage the actual orb or have a way of comparing the character to its power, but it's clear in the story that it's above absolutely everything in the overworld. But you could say that since Malgosha uses it for power and harnesses it herself, she should scale to it right? Well no, she harnesses the orb with another power source, and she never once amplifies herself with its complete power. You could say she becomes stronger? But we don't really see any implications of Malgosha being amplified to an insane degree, or having much more power than she already did. If anything, the effects of the Orb covering the sun might've made her magic more effective. Not only would it be an insane outlier, but it wouldn't really make too much sense.

Does Buck scale to Scrat?

No.

What? Did you think I would give you another explanation? Buck doesn't scale to Scrat….

Dude has never reached a similar scale and Scrat is the absolute biggest outlier of the franchise. Now go away..read the verdict or something..

Hey, go on..shoo.

I don't have anything for you

Hey. Get Lost. Scram…

I'm telling you there's no way to logistically scale Buck to Scrat…now go on..

Ok maybe there's a way to scale Buck to Scrat…

But you'll have to hear me out…..

Just kidding.

Verdict

In a battle of survivors from other worlds, only one of them could show just how well they could survive in a theoretical battle to the death. They have already fought monsters, beasts, evil knacks and survived world ending events, let's see how they handle facing off against each other!

Experience/Skill

Yeah it makes sense for this to be an important category for both, surviving and being skilled enough to fight back against a dangerous world is basically their whole thing. Steve learned many things in the overworld, he battled zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers, Pillagers, and even an Enderman and came out on top. His building prowess is spectacular, he was able to build multiple houses, forts, statues, and even an entire amusement park. He's great at building traps in certain places, coming up with plans in order to save his world, and of course being able to fight mobs almost every single night. Remember, Minecraft days last 20 minutes, so imagine just how many times he has to fight off enemies every single day. Buck also learned many things in the dino world, he's a great survivalist who could camouflage himself, knows so much about his environment and the creatures that he knows almost exactly how to stop ones that lead to inevitable death, and he's a good tracker who can find his way and give off great descriptions for the things he smells. Buck is a really quick learner who can adapt to almost any situation, and can literally fight dinosaurs on the daily and save eggs from poachers, even being able to outsmart and go through flying Dino's like a sneaky so and so. The dude has actually thrown hands with Dinosaurs and other creatures that are FAR bigger than him.

Both are very good survivalists and know almost everything about the world they're in, but who's more experienced in that degree? While there isn't an exact date for it, we can actually make an approximate guess. Now Steve is at least in his late 30s when he entered the overworld, when Garret receives an eviction notice it reveals that the present day date is March of 2010. We can probably assume Steve works at his doorknob salesman job in the late 1990s considering the type of computers Steve had to use. So with a timeframe of somewhere in the late 1990s to 2010, we can assume Steve was in the overworld for 10-16 years! Which would be over 20,000 years in Minecraft days which we won't necessarily count because.. y'know.. Minecraft days only last 20 minutes. However for Buck we do have a more solid timeframe, in his first appearance Buck states that he had lost his mind about 3 months ago, and we know he was more sane before that, so at the very very least we know in that movie he was in the dino world for a good amount of months. But remember, that wasn't his only appearance, he later showed up in Ice Age collision course, which gives us an even greater timeframe. Buck personally saw Peaches as a newborn, but in Collision Course she was getting married and was already moving out. This means Peaches should at least be 19-20 by the time collision course comes around. This ALSO means that Buck was in the dinosaur world for at least 19-20 years! That's much more than Steve's theoretical timeframe. And if you're wondering who wins a genuine intelligence battle, Buck genuinely has a Neil DeGrasse Tyson persona inside of his head that can come up with expert solutions to very big problems, he actually used this to stop a whole meteor from crashing into the planet and destroying all life. This category goes to BUCK WILD.

Arsenal/Equipment

Both have picked up a lot of weapons throughout their journey. Steve claimed lots of gear like pickaxes, shields, axes, battle axes, spears, blades for days, and of course full armor sets; all that come in different materials like Stone, Iron, Gold, or Diamond! He also has some other knick knacks like a one time use ender pearl that could teleport you, a crafting table to build any item with certain materials, an Elytra Wingsuit that could be used to fly around in the sky, explosive TNT, fireworks, boots that can make Steve faster, bows and arrows, Flint and Steel, a water bucket, a slime cube, some eggs, a nunchuck made of buckets, a tot launcher that can shoot potatoes, and of course the powerful orb of dominance. The Orb is capable of tracking down the portal to the Minecraft world, pulling you towards it or possibly being used as a power source. Unfortunately, Steve has never used it that way nor doesn't know how he could use it for combat purposes. However lucky for him, he does have the Staff of Dominance, which belonged to the evil sorceress Malgosha. It can launch magical attacks at enemies and will create a fire effect in terms of its damage. And we can't forget about his support, Steve has his wolf buddy Dennis of course, along with an entire pack of wolves that can fight with Dennis. And if he has enough time to do so, Steve could create an army of Iron Golems, or make a Golem fused with the boots of swiftness for extra punch.

As for Buck, the diesel weasel…he of course has his tooth blade that he took from Rudy, explosive dino berries that could distract opponents and be used as a projectile, purple berries that basically act as explosive gas drugs, vine which can be used to swing through the jungle or be used as a whip, pieces of asteroids that can be used as very powerful magnets that can even attract other asteroids, a bone boat which is a boat that looks like a skull, a plant projectile which can shoot a bunch of fruit at dinosaurs, a squirt plant which can shoot liquid like water or sticky sap, an explosive plant that launches more destructive projectiles that explode on impact, and a peashooter which can shoot a ton of green projectiles at any opposing dinosaurs attempting to eat him. As for his more random equipment, he does have leaf that he could use to glide down from a tall height, a lilypad used for camouflage, a really large stick, and a very weirdly explosive coconut? As for his Jurassic support, Buck has a pterodactyl that he could use to fly through the skies, a fucking Pachycephalosaurus which he could use to attack enemies, and Mama T-Rex herself..in all her glory.

Now, this category should easily go to Steve. Yes Buck does have a decent arsenal and could combat a lot of what Steve has, whether it's explosives, projectiles, flight, and heavy backup. Steve is just far more versatile in his equipment, he has many more combat weapons and many more knick knacks he could use to possibly overwhelm Buck. ESPECIALLY the staff of dominance, which is something the Buck can't really match, since it's a LOT of fire power than Buck will have a hard time countering. As for their support, well duh that's an easy one. Sure Steve has wolves and Iron Golems and all..but uh…yeah.. Dinosaurs…Dinosaurs. We'll give Buck that point, having Dinosaurs he could actually attack with is very powerful, but generally Steve just has a lot more to offer. This category goes to STEVE.

Abilities/Powers

Well this is a weird one to discuss since neither of these guys are super well known for their powers? But we'll go into it anyway. Steve's main power is the ability to build whatever he wants based on his imaginations. He just gets some blocks and makes different kinds of bases, structures, and maybe even walls to protect himself. He also does have an inventory that allows him to store weapons, items, and other things like slime cubes or flint and steel. Although he could lose items if they're not stored, or they could break if enough damage is taken. Buck is, however, a bit more versatile in abilities. He has enhanced senses that allow him to smell things very well, can twist and stretch his body which lets him take lots of damage and move quicker, he break the laws of gravity for some reason, can just fucking teleport, and could just transfer your mind inside of his consciousness……so..uh. Yeah this category goes to BUCK WILD.

Scaling/Stats

Both have went through a lot, having to survive the powerful threats in their worlds. But who had to prove themselves the most and had the greater physical capabilities? Steve has consistently displayed that he could fight against zombies of the night, survive crashing into many things or generally taking lots of physical damage, and has shown that he could react to both arrow and crossbow fire. He along with the newcomers of the overworld fight against the evil forces of the nether and more. These forces include creepers which could self detonate and destroy structures, Piglins who could survive fireball explosions that could get to the building range, and Ghasts that survived a pretty big explosion with lots of force. Speaking of the Newcomers, they could evade Ghast fireballs, defeat many piglins one by one, and survive a wall level TNT explosion with more arrow timing. And of course there's the orb of dominance, which with a way to harness its power, could create a Large Town level storm across the Overworld. Now yes, the AP could be much stronger but we gotta wait for an approximate size of the overworld first..

Buck also isn't new to being an absolute menace and beast in the stat department. He could punch out Rudy's tooth which gets around City-Block, could destroy an entire rock structure by singing, could make a coconut explode by throwing it which gets Multi-City Block, and could carry large structures on his own. He's also fast enough to outrun large dinosaurs and evade Supersonic electricity, and durable enough to survive being stopped by Dinos and survive a massive electricity blast inside of a forest. Buck is capable of battling and going up against many of the Dinosaurs in his world, lot of them are very very strong. Rudy could take down entire trees just by waking, and he survived falling down a cliff when Buck assumed he died. There's also these flying Dinosaurs that Buck fights that survive a small building lightning blast, being crushed by boulders, and survive and react to being hit by a large Asteroid; the feat getting High Hypersonic and City block. The Herd also joins him in his journeys, and Buck is obviously fighting the Dinos that they're having trouble with. Manny could fight rhinos, sea monsters, and a monkey that pushed apart an iceberg. Sid could survive being striked by an asteroid which gets small town, and Crash & Eddie could destroy a snow mountain which gets Town.

Yeahhh uh. So Buck kinda destroys? Even with the lowest ends possible, Steve is Wall and Buck is MCB. With their highest possible ends, Steve is Small Building and Buck is Town. As for speed, Steve has consistent arrow timing which would get subsonic speeds, while Buck pretty consistently has High Hypersonic speed feats. The only way Steve could really win with AP is if he scaled to the Orb of Dominance, which is Large Town, more powerful than Buck. Unfortunately not only can he not scale to the orb, he also doesn't have a way to USE it's power in a combat scenario. So yeahhh, this category goes to BUCK WILD.

Summary

Steve

“First we mine, then we craft! Let's Minecraft!"

Advantages

  • Has a much greater arsenal / generally more versatile

  • Should be larger in scale to his general size and items like Malgosha's staff

  • Has bigger numbers from the wolf pack and the army of golems

  • The Orb of Dominance would one shot anything Buck attempts to throw at him

  • His lava chicken is tasty as hell

  • He..is Steve.

Disadvantages

  • Much weaker than Buck and should realistically get blitzed

  • Gets overwhelmed by Bucks abilities and dinosaur support

  • Not as experienced as Buck, and is far less acrobatic (not a fat joke…Buck is just built different.)

  • ….but he has no way of using the Orb in the fight…

  • Minecraft movie theaters

  • Funny movie with a pretty mid plotline

Buck Wild

"Over here ya colossal fossil! Looking for something?? Well why don't ya come and get it!”

Advantages

  • Should generally AP stomp and blitz to hell and back

  • Has BIGGER numbers in size thanks to, y'know, having Dinosaurs

  • Has legitimate abilities that would catch Steve off guard

  • Far more acrobatic and slippery for Steve / could keep his distance well

  • Far more experienced and generally smarter than Steve

  • The best part of a mid movie

  • The best part of his whole franchise

Disadvantages

  • Has a much weaker and less varied arsenal and can't answer to the scale of Steve's weapons

  • Generally has a smaller amount of numbers

  • The Orb of Dominance could one shot him if it was ever used in a combat scenario

  • Collision Course and Adventures of Buck Wild were still unfortunately bad movies..

Conclusion

Now this was a pretty fun matchup to discuss, both of these guys have a lot more to talk about than I think anyone would expect. However, I think most would agree with the fact, Buck should take this pretty solidly. While Steve is very skilled and experienced, Buck is even MORE experienced and is generally much smarter than Jack Black Minecraft guy. Yes, Steve helped come up with a plan to save the overworld from Malgosha, but Buck came up with the plan to save the entire planet from a world destroying asteroid. He's also much more agile and generally more slippery. While Steve is no joke and can fight really well, Buck will be very tricky to compete against considering how he could twist his body, swing through the trees on vines, and battle flying Dino's almost daily. Now point to Steve, he does generally have a better arsenal as he has more weapons in general, and has items like TNT or the Staff of Dominance. However it's not like Buck is useless in this category, he still has a sword, explosives and ranged weaponry. And his support helps him even more, yes Steve has bigger numbers but Buck being able to use Dinosaurs to battle that are already stronger than Buck himself is a much greater advantage. And speaking of stats, yeah Buck is much faster and much stronger no matter what ends you use for them..and ability wise he's weirdly really versatile. Even if it's not fatal, being able to just transfer Steve's mind inside his own is really overpowered and would at least confuse Steve a lot. Steve has a really impressive and vast arsenal, and is normally larger in scale. But Buck is much faster, stronger, and has everything he needs to beat the Jack Blacksonian brick man. Buck surely evaded a wild loss, while Steve couldn't craft his way to a win!

Buck Wild has escaped this deadly fate and is tonight's winner
